About

The Ka Leo O Waiakea is the online student newspaper of Waiakea High School, in Hilo, Hawaii.

Publication began in late 2011 after the printed version of the Ka Leo was discontinued due to budget cuts.

The Ka Leo is a project of Mr. Donn Yamamoto’s Directed Studies in Arts and Communications class.

Ka Leo O Waiakea is Hawaiian for “The Voice of Waiakea.”

And, because nobody reads the “About” page anyway, here’s some nice ASCII art!
